Larraine and Don Darling

Owner Don Darling has lived in Estes Park since 1993 and finished his first custom home in 1994. Originally from Northeastern Ohio, Don and his wife, Larraine, have been married for more than 30 years and have three children and two grandchildren. In his free time, Don enjoys riding his Harley and is actively involved in the Estes Park community.

Don is a third-generation builder. He began working as a carpenter in 1975 and launched his own company in 1979. Don builds one custom home at a time and is "hands-on" during design and construction. Don maintains a small crew and has a close working relationship with architectural home designer, Ron Ruegger. This relationship provides a true "design/build" experience for clients. Additionally, Don works closely with real estate agents and land developers to acquire the ideal lot for every home. Several of Don’s homes have been built in the prestigious Windcliff Estates of the Estes Valley.

Don understands that when a client builds a custom home in Estes Park, it’s often the culmination of a life’s dream. He works closely with every client to ensure their ideas and expectations are designed in and properly executed during construction. A master carpenter, Don personally handles much of the project, including finish carpentry, cabinets, and tile work. Clients appreciate driving to their new home site and finding Don working with the crew or installing the custom-built cabinetry.
